My Grandmother’s Chocolate Bar cookies
½ C. Butter
¼ C. sugar
5 T. cocoa powder
1 egg, lightly beaten
- Melt these ingredients until smooth on the stovetop.
- Add into that mixture:
1 t. vanilla
2 C. graham cracker crumbs
1 C. grated coconut
½ C. pecans, chopped
- Stir until well blended. Spread mixture evenly in a buttered 9” pan.
- Cream together:
¼ C. butter, softened
3 T. milk
2 T. instant vanilla pudding granules
2 C. sifted powdered sugar
- Spread this creamy mixture over the graham cracker mixture in the pan.
- Over low heat melt:
8 oz. (2 bars) semi-sweet chocolate
1 T. butter
- Stir until smooth. Spread chocolate mix over creamy mixture in pan. Let stand in the refrigerator until hardened.
